Volunteering at Colfax is one of the very best ways to get plugged into the community. And there are so many opportunities! The events we host throughout the year raise crucial funds that allow us to continue to support the many enrichment programs our students enjoy. And every event is 100% run by volunteers. From leading and planning, to showing up and putting in a few hours on the day of the event - we need and are grateful for every hour you give!

Colfax Governing Councils

Another great way to volunteer at Colfax, is to join one of our governing councils. These two councils, Local School Leadership Council (LSLC) and Governance, are responsible for important decision making at Colfax including hiring, curriculum, calendar, school safety and much more. Members of each council run for their positions in the Fall and Elections take place at Back to School Night. Interested in learning more? Check out this flyer for more information. Become an LAUSD Approved Volunteer

Interested in volunteering on campus? You must be an LAUSD approved volunteer to be on campus while children are present. Not approved yet? Don't worry! Follow the steps below to make it happen! (There are also plenty of volunteer opportunities that do not require you to be approved - email colfaxvolunteers@gmail.com! to find out more!)

1. Click here to fill out an application. After you've filled it out online, print out your online application and sign it. Drop it in the Volunteer Bin in the Colfax office. Along with your application, you will also need to bring:
2. Your signed Volunteer Commitment Form.
3. Your signed Liability Waiver. 
4. Your signed Covid Waiver. 
5. A negative TB test (this is only required once every 4 years.)

Waivers and commitment forms are available in the Colfax office. Be sure to compile all forms and drop them in the Volunteer bin in the office. Processing can take several weeks, so be sure to get all your applications in as soon as possible!
